As far as I've been told and from personal experience, all you need to do is
to delete the program from your list of applications. I know this should
pretty much do the job. If you really want to keep your system nice and
clean, there are a number of utilities which will help you remove any
remaining components from your libraries.

Over the weekend, my mom decided to download FireFox for a back-up
server. Come to find out that it doesn't work as well as Safari. She also
had me try another Word editing program which didn't work as well as Text
Edit. How would I go about removing these unwanted programs?
