I don't know about the Mac, but keep in mind that, for example, in Outlook Express, when you receive a message with a receipt request, it asks whether you want to send the receipt. So, just because you ask for a receipt, doesn't actually mean you'll necessarily get one when the message is read. I usually decline sending receipts, unless I know who the person is, and actually want them to know I've read their message.

Can we get mail yet or any mail program for the mac to show us when messages have been opened at the other end? i am currently applying for jobs and if i was in the windows environment i would request a read receipt to know that my mail has been delivered
