Ditto. I find messages sent to me with receipt requests annoying. I
generally never allow them. I'd rather just reply back to let them know
I got their message.

I don't know about the Mac, but keep in mind that, for example, in
Outlook Express, when you receive a message with a receipt request, it
asks whether you want to send the receipt. So, just because you ask
for a receipt, doesn't actually mean you'll necessarily get one when
the message is read. I usually decline sending receipts, unless I know
who the person is, and actually want them to know I've read their
message.

Can we get mail yet or any mail program for the mac to show us when
messages have been opened at the other end?
i am currently applying for jobs and if i was in the windows
environment i would request a read receipt to know that my mail has
been delivered
I am shocked that this basic feature, is not in apple mail
