Left and right arrows should move you. If you're finding that the
arrows don't do anything, hit escape which takes keyboard focus away
from the edit fields and you should be fine. Also, I believe you can
insert a specific time in the tool bar and then cmd-shft-y to move the
play head to the insertion pointer. Pressing space at that point
should then play.
