Hi all,
Just a follow-up addition/correction to my post if you want to
combine playlists into a master playlist using a smart playlist.
Smart playlist can be set to match either ANY of the rules or ALL of
the rules you supply. When you want to use a smart playlist to
combine other playlists you should set it to match ANY of the rules
that say: Playlist is <playlist1>, Playlist is <playlist2>, etc. Go
to the start of the smart playlist where it first said "Match the
following rule" and, once you have added more than one rule by
pressing the "+" button, you'll find there is now a pop-up button for
"Match ANY/ALL of the following rules". Change the pop-up button to
"any".

Esther

In iTunes you can save radio streams into a playlist. Command-
Shift-N will let you create a new playlist from your selection.
For some reason the contextual menu does not work for me under the
radio streams songs outline, so I can't just do a VO-keys-Shift-M
and select the "Add to Playlist" option the way I can for podcasts
or any other library, but maybe that's because I'm running Tiger?
You can use either AppleScripts or Automator actions to add
selections to a playlist instead, but here are a few simple ways to
get around this bug:
1. Create regular playlists for each one of your radio streams with
Command-Shift-N
2. (Optionally) Combine the individual playlists into a master
playlist of radio streams by creating a smart playlist (Option-
Shift-N) with rules like "Playlist is <name of your playlist>" and
keep
pressing (VO-keys+space) the "+" button to add another rule until
you run out of playlists you want to add. Then carriage return
when you're done and name your Master playlist as you like.
Weirdly, the contextual menu works in playlists that you create of
radio streams. So if you open a category folder like "Talk/Spoken
Word" and select all with Command-A, then create your new playlist
from selection you can either delete entries you don't want, or use
the contextual menu (VO-keys+Shift-M) and add those selections to a
specific playlist the way you should have been able to do from the
streams songs outline.
HTH

P.S. This is another case of replies to posts to the MacVisionaries

It depends upon whether or not you are talking about listening to
a radio stream from within itunes or one you have started from
safari.
To save a stream from itunes radio as a bookmarked stream choose
the stream you want to save. When it has been selected press
command+i and while in the summary tab you will find the url of
the stream. Route your mouse pointer to the url by pressing VO
+command+f5. Then control+click. Copy URL should appear. Press
return. Command+u. Command+v. Press return. The stream should
start to play and will be placed in your library. Hope this helps.

Does some way exist to save a working bookmark to a playing radio
stream once iTunes has it playing? This way for favorite
stations you'd no longer need to hunt down all of the available
categories and radio streams iTunes has to offer each time you
wanted to listen to a favorite station.
