Hi
Whether you need to convert it or not depends on what the filesystem inside of the dmg is. Most dmg's are formatted as OS X filesystems, so they need to be converted before they will be read by Windows. This also applies if the dmg is compressed, as the majority of downloaded disk images are. In general, it's probably best to convert it, it will do no harm in any case.

Hi Erik.

If I remember correctly, you can just change the extension from .dmg to .iso by renaming the file. If it doesn't work, you can convert the dmg file in disc utility to the file extension called cd-dvd master which is a file extension I don't remember, and then rename the file to an .iso file. That's how I did it then I needed to convert a dmg file. I don't remember if you can rename the .dmg extension to .iso, or if you have to convert it to cd-dvd master first using disc utility.

Please let me know if it doesn't work. Then I'll see if I can find the forum where I found the guide which explain how to do it.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
