That's not part of an office suite, it's an email client. It's usually directly related to either your browser, or standalone.

I call it a communication tool. Productivity tool comes from producing files such as document/spreadsheet/presentation. Arguably database files.

Email/RSS/Web/FTP/Calendar/ are either communication tools or information tools. Unless you actually send and recieved a lot of your vcards/ical/mbx and store it as a file in your harddrive, but most people never put it away from the compounds of the software.

If you think productivity lies in the user productivity in the office then its wrong since arguably the browser would also be a productivity tool in the same way the phone is.
