Group,
A question was raised some time ago as to what extent Outlook is integrated with the rest of MSO. At the time it had been so long since I had used it that I had forgotten... well, frankly, how good and capable a program Outlook really is. Since I recently had to re-install Word in order to deal with a particular file, I went ahead and re-installed the complete MSO 2000 suite.

So to answer the question, "How is Outlook integrated with the rest of MSO?"...

I have looked into this, and maybe if Gecko can render OpenDocument using XFT and XBT can encourage the integration.

However the whole integration of outlook with outlook itself is targeted by the Hula Project. Hula wants to make your calendar come from email and email get journalized and everything relates with everything else.

in opensource this SHOULDN't be so hard but we lack developers. for example a complete XML PIM app could make everything interchange with everything using a strong XSLT framework that will convert your ical with vcf with mbox and interact between them.

I would also suggest to check kontact from KDE and take it for a ride.
