Is OOo2 likely to run comfortably on those specs?
Or will it need to be pared down and streamlined for OOo3 first?

Many people had run OOo on 64Mb of Ram. So no worries about this.

Seconded. I've got 192MB RAM, and it's a *dog* coming up, going down, and at spots while running.
