Hi again, My first message on this topic doesn't seem to have made it through to the mailing list. So I'll try again. I've installed OOv2.0.3 on XP and Write and Calc work okay as they have done in the past. I've never been able to get Base to work properly, but I have to now if I am to continue using it in this job.
I first tried importing an MS Access database and it seemed to import okay. However, I cannot get any SQL queries to run. All produce the same error message. The queries all run perfectly on MS Access. I thought it might be the fault of the import, so I created a toy table entirely in OO Base and tried a trivial query on it: SELECT * FROM personalinfo WHERE suburb MATCHES "Gladesville"; Syntax error in SQL expression syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting BETWEEN or IN or SQL_TOKEN_LIKE The table is there, the field and values are within it. The SQL code is one of a number of variations that I tried in hopes that OO might harbor peculiarities of syntax. I even replicated this by creating the same query (I hope) in design view. Same error. Does anybody know how I can get Base to work?
