All, You can now download my book "The New C Standard" (an 8M byte pdf). I wish I could point you at a source for a paper version but none is currently available (the availability listed on Amazon is incorrect). Addison-Wesley decided not to publish it :-(mine was one of a number of titles that got culled).
But good news for ppigers in that you now have access to an online copy. Please note: those of you who enjoyed sentences 1, 763, and 782, the psychology/linguistics material is not as pervasive in the other sentences. There is plenty to read for those interested in (all seen from a C perspective) C++, implementation techniques, coding guidelines, and empirical source code usage. Comments welcome (I know that some of the margin references at the bottom of the page apply to material at the top of the next page; I have given up wrestling with the page layout system for the time being). To keep my daily bandwidth within limits please use the following algorithm to select a download site: If you birthday falls on an even day of the month use: http://www.coding-guidelines.com/cbook/cbook1_0a.pdf If your birthday falls on an odd day of the month use: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dmjones/cbook1_0a.pdf Additional material can be found at the books web site: http://www.knosof.co.uk/cbook/cbook.html Please do not publish this information to another public newsgroup or email list (at least until September 2005). To keep daily bandwidth usage within limits I will be posting this information to the obvious groups at intervals of a 3-4 days. derek -- Derek M Jones tel: +44 (0) 1252 520 667 Knowledge Software Ltd mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Applications Standards Conformance Testing http://www.knosof.co.uk ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PPIG Discuss List ([email protected]) Discuss admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/discuss Announce admin: http://limitlessmail.net/mailman/listinfo/announce PPIG Discuss archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40ppig.org/
