The article is full of demagoguery. Every time, I personally, encounter an "advice" like - "Focus on a unifying team goal built around customer needs" I want to puke. I think Scott Adams has done a lot to explain the real value of these sentences in its Dilbert cartoon.
He talks about usability and UI design. Well no one would argue on importance of these issues. However role of "artist" (=usability + graphic UI design) is hardly as important as the article implies.
