Hi all, After discussion with some people knowledgable about the JCP (Java Community Process), it was suggested to me that I shouldn't wait any longer to start the standardization of the Restlet API. This process starts with a JSR (Java Specification Request) proposal and a vote by an executive comitee. If the JSR is accepted, a group of experts is formed. The whole process takesbetween 12 to 18 months on average. See http://www.jcp.org for details.
So, I was convinced to start the process ASAP instead of waiting until 2007Q2. This also means that the 1.0 final release will be delayed and will be the ultimate result on the JSR (if accepted). One big interest of a JSR is to get feed-back from experts, from the JCP members and from the larger Java community. So, it is better to not freeze the Restlet 1.0 API by the end of this year as initially planned. I've updated the road map to reflect this decision: http://www.restlet.org/roadmap Let me you if you have any concern or comment. Best regards, Jerome
