Lowest price - build it yourself. It's not that difficult and if you just want a basic system, you can create one that meets your specific needs then add on some bells and whistles later. I found much of the complexity of the "off the shelf" products were from an attempt to make a one size fits all, and trying to allow some degree of customization. If you are just building it for yourself, then you don't need all those added functions.
