Clarke,
I compiled a simple Flex 3.2 application and that function was not present
for the flash loading script.  Which Flex compiler are you using?

My initial thought would be to use a later version of the JavaScript from a
later Flex compiler that may resolve this issue?  To my knowledge, that JS
is just to check your version of the flash player and show the SWF
correctly.
