My version seems to be ok.  I suspect you are using a too old version of
libreadline.  Are you using the 12-14 firmware?  Can you try whether my
current -2 build at http://mosquito.dyndns.tv/~spock/openwrt/ has the
same problem?  (note: that one has some experimental garbage collector
hacks and might be slower).

If you're not using 12-14 firmware you could try to install the version
of readline from the link above.  But fhat might break other programs,
including bash.

That is very nice to hear.  I have no current project here to test
Octave on.  Well, my brother just ported his master thesis' matlab work
over to octave, and promised to eventually buy a nanonote if it could do
Octave.  But I figure his megapixel image processing code will never run
on NanoNote anways :)

Just working on a plplot port.  Hopefully that will enable normal
visualization functions.
