Agreed -- modulo "crowdfunding".

If the money comes and is redistributed, that's all that matters.
It could be crowdfunding, or b2b funding, traditional sponsoring,

Good idea: we can end the 11/12 day by saying "oh, we have 5000€
and they will be donated to X (23%), Y (17%), Z (9%), etc.  If you
want to contribute to this community-led FLOSS donation campaign,
please donate now!"

We should avoid using those services anyway, they are a problem for
many people and in our case, they don't really add value IMO.
