Other than the --without-gtk and --without-gnome issues, distcc-2.11.2 builds just fine on Solaris 8 with the Sun ONE Studio 7 compiler and GTK+ installed on the machine. There's just a warning you may want to fix:
$
./configure --with-gtk

$ make
[...]
