I don't think this is the problem since gcc is newer in the pc where the distributed compilation fails (3.3.5 vs 3.3.4). Moreover the flag declaration-after-statement is present in both Makefiles in the two pc's, and since it does not cause any problem when building locally, I am starting to suspect this is a bug of the distcc implementation on Gentoo.
