Assuming you want this to work _now_, you still need "install_requires", not "requires_dist". And you would change "from distutils.core import setup" to "from setuptools import setup". Since distribute 0.6 is a drop-in replacement for setuptools, and provides a package named "setuptools", this will use either setuptools or distribute, whichever happens to be installed.
