I don't think a calendar is ever going to get its own list.  I bet there are a 
few other common things that are similar, although I am starting to sense that 
trying to have any plug-in like functionality is not as easy as I was 
expecting, 
which may mean it is just easier for everyone to roll their own.  or something. 
    but this is not the place for this.   django-hotclub is :)
