At least it isn't barfing on the egg now. It just can't find django. Change this: $HOME/Development/django_src/django/bin to this: $HOME/Development/django_src/ for your PYTHONPATH. the django_src/django/bin folder is for scripts, but django_src/django is the actual package. The directory you specify in PYTHONPATH needs to contain the package directory in order to import django. It's a python thing.
