Thanks Collin for sharing your "hacky" solution. It does indeed work. It's not as neat as a proper redirect to the parent category, but I don't have the django skills to come up with something better. Hopefully someone will chime in with a better solution. Meanwhile, I'm adopting your trick. Thanks again!
