If you really want everything, then either MacPorts or Fink work well. If you just want to run through the tutorial, though, you can probably get away with the built-in version of Python and SQLite as suggested. Older Macs have Python 2.3, which should work (though it is quite old); Leopard (MacOS X 10.5) ships Python 2.5, which is the latest version.
