Hello,
We recently noticed an issue in our DMTCP environment. We found that our test
has a 10-15% speed drop when running with the dmtcp_checkpoint wrapper while
using DMTCP 1.4, yet we don't see the same speed drop with DMTCP 1.3. This is
regardless of actually creating checkpoints - simply including the wrapper
seems to slow things down.
Our test is a multi-threaded test, with frequent mutex exchanges.
I'm not sure how difficult it would be to create an example of the problem for
you, so I wanted to start by asking if you can think of any changes which may
have caused the slowdown? Perhaps we can go through them in the source here to
see if we can get the speed back up.
Thanks,
Jake
