USB audio, without proprietary USB transmission protocols (as per MOTU)
can be very dodgy.

Theres some good information on this at www.rme-audio.com

are you sure its strictly a bandwidth problem with usb itself. you cant
increase the usb bandwidth as a whole, but unless you connect more
devices, it should work as advertised. what exactly happens? what does
cubase say? it might be a latency issue, so you may need to increase
your latency settings in cubase. is the version of cubase you're using
properly compatible with XP - older versions may not have been so you
might need to get the latest version.

sorry i cant be more specific, but i dont have a laptop or cubase. i
just dont think its a usb bandwidth issue as it sounds like it works
normally.
