So in summation, I guess we can all get from this that music perception is an extremely subjective thing. Because mastering is a very subtle process, it takes that subjectivity to a whole new level. The net result is that people will swear up and down that just about anything dealing with mastering is Bible truth, and it will be to them. Just take it with a grain of salt, especially if it doesn't make sense. Of course, on the flip side, mastering is at least as much voodoo as science, so there are going to be some things that just don't make sense no matter what. Just follow your gut instinct.
