we've got a mackie 1604-vlz pro in my studio. the eq on it is immaculate.
i havent used a mic through it yet (my roommate just got it recently). i
cant say enuff about the eq though. it blew my mind the first time i
twiddled around with it.

Subject: [dnb-prod] Mackie 1604 and Soundcraft FX16

I am looking around for a possible new mixer. My Behringer MX 2004A is not
bad, but
it has a certain noise level and I need a few more channels. And better
quiality in
the EQ wouldn't hurt, even though it's not an obvious problem for me right
now (at
least I don't know it ;).

Among many I have been recommended (and like) the Soundcraft Folio FX16 and
the
Mackie 1604VLZPRO mixers.

What are your comments on these mixers? And what about the CR series of the
Mackie
1604? I hear they have less excellent mic preamps, but is there anything
else that
differs between the CR and the VLZ (and the VLZPRO)?

And what about the built in effect in the Soundcraft Folio FX16?
