Hmmm.. Although that is the way that ACPI has been utilised by XP, the weird thing is that my mate has an intel box and he can have ACPI enabled and somehow it puts all his devices on their own IRQs! Don't know how or why!
As far as I can tell, the only downside to having ACPI disabled on my machine is that it won't automatically turn itself off! Not that much of a pain I guess... -----Original Message----- From: Scope - Streetbeats [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 11 February 2002 11:17 To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: AMD and MOTU? At the rme-audio site theres info on optimising PCs for audio use, including disabling acpi. On single cpu systems windows 2k or xp will share IRQ9 with all devices. ************************************** Get your FREE Web based email at http://www.m4jungle.com ************************************** Streetbeats, Noir, Pi, Z-no http://www.streetbeats.co.uk http://www.m4jungle.com http://www.noir-recordings.com http://www.pi-recordings.com http://www.z-no.co.uk ************************************** > -----Original Message----- > From: Nick Lankester [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 11 February 2002 11:04 > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: AMD and MOTU? > > Can't help with the MOTU side of things but I have a motherboard with the > same chipset and if I don't disable ACPI then XP sticks every device on > the > same IRQ! > > I would suggest installing XP WITH ACPI enabled seeing what happens and > then > if you have to, disable ACPI from within XP...
