No, there are also scsi, usb and parallel port ones (although I think the
ones that attach to the parallel aren't that common anymore lately).

Best is to go for an ide one (or if you have scsi, I'd prefer a scsi one).

I have a plextor 4220, which is still working fine after 3 or so years of
use. Fun thing is that because it's in the scsi chain my akai sampler can
also see it.
