Did you ever hear Dillinja's Bass in thirty hertz..... Records and dubs play all the frequencies. Once you start going below 50hz it becomes a little less noticable to the ear but that the range that makes you crap your pants...
boost that range around 35-75hz to get those killer subs but don't drown out the 80-100hz range where all the kick comes from, you have to find a happy median betwwen the ranges. Roll off around 25hz because it's the shit you can't hear and it tends to muddy the track up a little...
