I find this to suspect still. Doesn't feel right. I
think a better solution is to get a quality D/A Converter from there run it
through a proper tubed amplifier into some quality speakers. This will yeild the
results you are looking for. Integration into your motherboard is to risque,
especially if the chipset they used starts to generate problems within your apps
or peripheral devices.

right here!
From what I can gather, the tube is a part of a built in preamp
on the motherboard. There is an integrated sound card, but the preamp
has inputs, so you can run your own sound card or anything else you want
through the tube (woot!). According to their specs, the tube has a MTBF
(mean time between failure) of 4000-5000 hours, so easy replacement is a
must. I can't find anything on the actual model of tube they use, but
I'd guess they would want to use off the shelf components, rather than trying
to make their own. Check out some more specs at http://english.aopen.com.tw/products/mb/ax4b-533tube.htm.
Other tasty features include support for running your audio out the front of
the computer breakout box style, and a built-in S/PDIF interface. I
think I just might have to look at upgrading my system now.

Well I have like billions of questions on this now.
Firstly how is this going to help audiophiles? Is it that it has an
Integrated Sound card and that the sound card works with Tube
Technology? What happens when the tube (and it will) gives out? Easily
changed like on tubed amps? Is it a standard tube? (KT88 or similar).
Let us the tube heads know.
TRK.
