my advice as well, 
get Reason of Fruity, or better, get both and see what you like best (try Kazaa or IRC 
for "free" versions *wink*)

get loads of (good) samples,
if you put crap into any super-audio app, crap is what's going to be coming out as 
well, 
no matter how l33t your software is

you could also get some plugins for you soft (reverb, compressors etc)
(fruity has some really good ones IMO, basically all you need are in there standard)

practice, practice, practice (something I should be doing more myself...)
