well, as long as drone line uses the same notes as what is in your chords
then you will be fine. . However if you want to make it easy on yourself and
use C instead of B flat use the progression Dmin7- G7- CMaj This is
called a ii-v7-i progression in jazz the i is the tonic which means that all
the of the scales used are in the key of C. So when you improve instead of
changing scales you can just use the scale of CMaj over all three of the
chords. Howevcer, the SCALES are the same, not the actual chord tones. For
example if you use C over the first two chords when you move around C you are
creating a nice little tension over the other two chords.
