A little overdrive will give you some mid range.

Either overdrive on the desk or use a plugin or FX box. Be gentle though
unless you want to write gabba tunes.

yea i find that the tracks where i like my drum sounds are usually where
i've layered them.

but even then it's still not enough. i need more midrange boost on the
kicks... i'd like
to find kicks where there's already a lot of mid boost before i do any
processing/eq to
it.

hmm...i didn't think to overdrive the kicks any... do you mean with
compression
or distortion?

If you layer kicks etc together, EQ and then compress. you'll get a phatter
punchg if you need it. A little overdrive also helps.

thanks for checkin it out... the beginning parts are guitars...
except for that trippy star trek type sound... that's the subtractor
synth in reason.

yea, i'm gettin quite fed up with the drum sounds i have at
my disposal to work with. someone had given me a 2 cd set
of dance drum sounds but i just cannot find any thick enough
the way i want them.

anyone got any suggestions where i could download some killer
drum and bass drum samples?

not just dnb...but stuff i could use for rock songs too...

it's long, but it's obviously 2 separate tracks... about 6 and 7 minutes
each...
