Hi

When you say 3 compressors for the 16 outs and the first 8 outs are on XLRs - I take it you actually mean the 16 inputs share the compressors and the first 8 inputs are on XLRs?
I would like 16 line inputs (XLR to jack cables are always so damn expensive) and don't really care about tape outs cos i just stereo mix down to my soundcard, so again, 48Khz is fine cos i can change it in Cool Edit if I used the SPDIF.

Thanks for the info,

Dan

Yeah - I've got one and payed just over 350 for it. Really good value for money and will do exactly as you've written. The main differences between it and the newer 01V is that the digital output is fixed at 48khz, there are only 3 compressors (shared between the 16 outs) and there is no expansion slots. However, you won't find an 01V for under 500 2nd hand - probably nearer 600. Oh yeah, the first 8 outs are XLR's only (balanced I think). These negatives are a small price to pay when you compare it to a simlarly priced analogue desk.

DEFINITELY buy it - I love mine!  Feel free to email me privately if you need any more help.

Hi,

This may have been covered (?), but does anyone use a Yamaha Promix 01 and think its anygood for 16 channel mixer with total recall. Can you just recall all settings from a menu on the mixer like a Performance on a Synth or do you need to save the data on a sequencer?
I don't need to know about the dynamics cos I would use my rack compressors in the signal chain, but they seem quite useful considerring they are only about 350 as you can have about 5 tunes on the go at once....

Any satisfied users or are the Yamaha 01Vs a much better bet?

Read on their site that Blu Mar Ten think its a classic bit of kit (thought the compressors were lame, but the recall & FX to be fine)

Cheers
