Yep, its a couple of years old, so I was going to just copy the drive contents across
once installed to a little partition on the new HD to keep it all safe.

My friend mentioned that AWARD BIOS 4.5x has a 33.8GB limitation so he said there may
be some way of making the BIOS think the drive is smaller than it is by limiting the
size to 30gig (annoying since i bought a 60!) or could fool the BIOS with a download
from the Maxtor peeps - any ideas?

Dan

"He said that since i only have one CDRW drive it would make sense to run
the old HD on IDE 1 and slave the CD off this and install the new 60gig HD
as a master by itself on the IDE 2 channel."

thats what i was thinking.

the other thing i wa thinking is how old is your 4 gig? must be atleast 2
years old... hdds might not last more than that.. 8(
