I think worrying about this topic detracts from your ability to focus on
what REALLY matters.

This topic extends to just about everything in life - sports, governments,
religions - seriously EVERYTHING.

"WHO'S NUMBER ONE?"

My answer -

who cares?

It is healthy to adopt a competitive attitude, but I think anybody who gets
heated about this argument oughta take a step back and apply the need to
compete not as a vs. between oneself and everyone else, but instead to
oneself vs. oneself. That's the only way any sort of positive outcome will
result from it.

In the end it's all just a bunch of bullshit rhetoric anyway. You might as
well be arguing about the existence of God or the problems with the concept
of free will. Find something else to do with your time. There's a lot better
things to argue about. ;)

p.s. sorry for the philosophical response to your question. but I'm a philo
major, so that explains that. hehe.

Subject: [dnb-prod] London Music Scene VS USA scene

Dear List,
I recently got into a heated argument with a friend that the US scene
is better than the London scene. As a good junglist and ardkore exponent I
felt the need to defend London and the UK to the last man. My points were
that the US doesnt have the right conditions to really have a music scene
like that in London. For instance they dont have pirates and the production
quality seems lower. So anyways, I feel kind of silly defending London
since Ive never really been there (in mind my friends I go there all the
time when I listen to Jungle). However since most of you are from the UK
you can really tell me, is music in Britain really that much better? Is the
whole underground really that much more hardcore? Does the restricted
Record Industry and Media in America really hurt our scenes that much?
Thank you for answering this post, I hope this query is not random and
irrelevant to music production.
