Hi, the key error is lower down where it shows this:

        ** History over 2gig limit reduce pile size of non binary piles 2050MB 
> 2050MB

To fix this you need to use a setting to limit this history file size.
        hist_max 1000000000

Then restart dnews and run an expire.
