if got a serious problem handeling my dnews server.
on my server are actually about 49 000 groups,
but if i want look at the groups with a news-server client
like outlook or something like that there are no
groups listed.
when i use: tellnews undelete "*"
it tells me:
200 news.xxxxxx.xxx DNEWS Version 5.6b1,, S0, posting OK
Setting {*} to undeleted state
49221 groups marked for undelete
281 Completed
205 closing connection - goodbye!
but after restarting dnews still no groups appear
It looks like all groups have been killed with
tellnews rmgroups "*" :-(
how do i get those groups back?
the items there are still listed:
tellnews showgroups
Connect manually:
telnet localhost 119
list active
Does that list the groups or not ?
also check 'access.conf' it's possible the groups exist but are 'hidden' due to
access rules.
If you can't resolve send me
tellnews status
tellnews showgroups "rec.*"
