Certainly, you are correct that running and using a local recursive nameserver doesn't solve that (or any other) Firefox-internal problem. Nor indeed, inherently, address any such Firefox-internal problem in any way. You might notice that, in a burst of extreme cleverness, I nowhere so alleged. What I said was that I atrongly approved of the quoted Slashdot comment, endorsed running and using a local recursive nameserver as a basic security measure that ought to be routine, and then detailed how to implement it.
