How are you inserting a USBB stick when the box is far away?

Exactly. It's called a Juke Box. You stick in a quarter, press a letter
and number, and an arm grabs the appropriate USB stick and inserts it
in the computer's usb slot.

The mechanism could be used also to backup on a hard disk. Hard disks are currently the safest backup method, provided they are run periodically, but not continuously; this leads to connect them only for the duration of the backups, and it might be used on remote servers. In this case, better play with the power supply of the disk than insert/extract the usb plug.
