sure, we could even call home for a machine-readable list. That would
help with future additions to the registry.
that's not the point though, the difficulty is in replacing all existing
deployed implementations.
And I don't think .onion meets the threshold set in terms of having a
clear need and lack of alternative solution to the problem.
