Actually Jim, if things are headed in the direction of "protecting user's privacy" by funneling DNS queries over HTTPS to a small set of CDN operators run by unregulated private corporations, I think the Internet community needs to seriously look at more decentralized solutions to name resolution, and more radical approaches, even DHTs, should be on the table perhaps ..
