CALL FOR PAPERS

The European Political Sociology Research Group and the
Political Internet Watch of the Institut d'Etudes
Politiques - Strasbourg - France are convening their 2nd
International Colloquium on March 30-31, 2001. Its chief
focus will be :

Campaigning on the Net

The numerous elections that are due to take place in
2000 in France as well as in English-speaking countries
have spurred the creation of an ever-larger number of
campaigning sites on the Internet. We will concentrate
on the producers of Internet campaign material -
politicians, supporters and net admins - and on their
targets - supporters, floating voters, print media or TV
journalists.

The debates will chiefly center on case studies in
France, Great-Britain and the USA. The Political
Internet Watch being a cross-disciplinary research
group, the debates will go beyond political analysis to
encompass the sociological, linguistic and aesthetic
aspects of Internet campaigning sites. Proposals
originating from political scientists, sociologists,
communication experts, linguists or graphic design
specialists will be welcome.

Two- to three-hundred-word abstracts in English or in
French should be sent before December 23, 2000 to
