Below is a recent Minnesota E-Democracy newsletter. Check out our
Minnesota Young Voters Forum <http://www.e-democracy.org/mn-yvote/>
for our signature interactive event this fall.

In putting together Minnesota E-Democracy's extensive directory of
hundreds of state legislative candidate web sites
<http://www.e-democracy.org/2000/leg.html> one of that candidates
that really caught my attention in term of grass roots feel was Cy
Thao an Independence Party (Gov. Ventura's party) candidate for state
representative. His site <http://www.cythao.com> allows you to watch
his very funny television ad (which has generated local TV coverage
even though he hasn't run it yet and perhaps can afford to run it
three times total). The district is currently represented by a
white, left-wing Democrat in the poorest, largest minority population
(Asian/African-American) district in St. Paul. It may be Rep.
Dawkins biggest challenge in years
<http://ww3.house.leg.state.mn.us/members/members.asp?district=65A>.
The ad requires Quicktime - check it out!

The Minnesota Young Voters Forum is one of our more successful
special interactive events. Join over 150 young voters age 18-30

issues. Recent discussions have covered higher education, social
security, and an interesting exchange among young Nader and Gore
supporters. To subscribe, send a message to:

Special thanks to volunteers Nicole Garrison and Laurel Waldoch
for establishing and facilitating this forum. Big thanks to
the University YMCA and other groups for their work on the Senate
debate (in-person MN-YVOTE recruiting was the way to go) for younger
voters and the Governor's Office for recruiting help in Duluth and
the MSNBC Hardball event at the Mall of America.

3. E-Democracy 2000 - LINKS, LINKS, LINKS - Update Oct 25
-----------------------------------------------------------

For a comprehensive state-level directory of election web sites,
visit E-Democracy 2000:

        http://www.e-democracy.org/2000

This is best non-partisan starting point for navigating the many
election-related sites in Minnesota. As of October 28 only
20 of 201 state legislative districts do NOT have at least one
candidate with a web site or campaign e-mail address. This
is amazing. Congratulations candidates! Congratulations to
politics online in Minnesota.
