Imagine if every Senator developed an agressive online advocacy effort like John McCain <http://www.straighttalkamerica.com>. This is just an example of their timely use of e-mail alerts in the recent campaign finance reform push. it seems clear that McCain is increasing his power this way. When will others follow? Does any know of other members of Congress or any elected official anywhere that aggressively uses e-mail alerts for online advocacy? The idea that a fellow member of the Senate is directing the public to target specific Senators seems pretty radical to me. It is normal for politicians to abstractly encourage people to "contact their member of Congress."
