I think the colored border isn't necessary anymore. But we should leave the border directives in style.css, because NS 4 won't render the boxes correctly if the border-stuff is missing. I'd say we change the bg-color to #000066, which is the bg-color of the whole page.
I was actually thinking the other way around. Won't it be nicer to have the content boxes appear as floating? Can we do that?
yes- I've separated the tail from the body, is it better?
So I guess separating the breadcrumb from the content will help too, per Bill's suggestion.
- frontpages of the modperl books as ads.
I like to have the mod_perl books appear everywhere. What I'm afraid of is that they draw too much attention and distract from the main content.
I've tried to scale the images down, but the image was getting distorted. what do you think is the best thing to do?
It's OK as it right now.
Maybe we should add some spacing between the link text and the image (using hspace=3 or something)
Yes, I saw that they were somewhat stuck to the image. Do you think it's nicer to have the title + the authors listed together (top/bottom?) or like I did it?
Please start sending content fixing patches if you see that some text is misplaced, wrong or completely missing. Thanks!
One thing I don't understand is why "Documentation" is highlighted on the first page.
That's a bug in picking the default, since on the front page, you are not in any selected area yet. But I actually like to consider this bug as a feature :) The documentation is what you want :) Should I fix it?
One of the next things I plan to port from Allan's design is the [prev|up|next], so does everybody agree with the fixed text, rather than real titles? Also I prefer to have a symmetric [prev|next] rather then full length's [previous|next].
+1
I am currently trying to that, too. Should I stop?
No, no, go ahead. I still have to solve a bunch of problems with rendering POD (like internal links), so I'm keeping myself busy without touching the design.
