this is possible in all browsers apart from ns4 which will have a thick ugly border around the image.
we could set border="0" for that image and it would in fact work but then we wouldnt be using legal html. we could also reverse the idea. so if you remember the serach-suggestion i made some time ago with the textfield followed by that image so it looked like a part of the top-navigation. if we imstead of that _first_ have the image (which now is just html-text )and then the textfield: +-----------------------------+ + SEARCH! + text-field + +-----------------------------+ oh well, see attached gif maybe that is counter-intuitive but on the plus side we will have - search-area is very consistent with navtop - enter/return work everywhere (or should at least) - legal html Stas Bekman wrote: > > Hmm, the seach form at http://everything2.com/ uses an image as the > submit button.
