besides, the arrow-type bullet has at least some conotanations to the mac
operating system directory-structure, so when i click on the arrow i would
expect that menu-item to unfold its sub-items. (which of course would be
nice but then we have some javascript involved).

I agree with Allan. The menu looks great as-is, and should need any changes.
